Types of Cloth Diapers

Thinking of cloth diapering your baby? There is A LOT of info out there about cloth diapers and it can be overwhelming trying to sift through and find what will work best for you and your family.

I've included some of the most popular CD types below. If you are currently cloth diapering, what's your favorite? If you haven't started CD yet and have questions drop them in the comments below!

If you're in Central Oregon and want to try cloth diapering make sure to check out the Cloth Diaper Service! It's a great way to get started without having to worry about figuring out the wash routine. Plus you'll get help and support whenever you need it!

Prefolds are a two step process:

The prefold, usually made of cotton. This is the absorbant part of the diaper.

2. Diaper Cover. These are made of a waterproof material and will keep everything contained. These used to be called "Rubber or Plastic Pants" but they have come a long way and can be found in so many adorable patterns!

Fitteds are also a 2 step process but without any folding.

Snap the aborbant fitted diaper on baby. Then snap a waterproof cover over the fitted.

These are my personal favorite diapers to use! The cover has a pocket that you stuff with an insert and then use the diaper the same as an AIO.

The difference between these and AIO is that the inserts can come out making them dry faster than AIO.

AIO diapers are as easy to use a disposable diaper.

The waterproof cover and fluffy, absorbant layers are sewn together making it an All In One diaper.
